DESCRIPTION

Hardy and similar in habit to Yuccas and palm trees, you can enjoy its beautiful, fresh leaves that will bring life to any corner of your home.

Scientific name: Dracaena compacta

Curiosities: It is a species native to the African Continent and in its natural habitat can produce very fragrant flowers, with a sweet honey aroma. It does not produce flowers when grown as an indoor plant and in pots.

CARE

Temperature: It does not tolerate temperature changes well and its growth is associated with a temperature between 20ºC and 25ºC, bearing in mind that the hotter it is, the more humidity it needs.

Light: It needs to be located in a place with good lighting, but never in direct sunlight.

Watering: The substrate must always be kept moist, without water stagnating, as it does not tolerate waterlogging. Water frequently in summer, and moderate watering in winter.

Fertilizer: Use specific fertilizers for flowering plants from spring to autumn.

Transplanting: In spring or early summer every two years or when its size exceeds that of the pot. A light, well-drained substrate is recommended.

Maximum height: Its growth is slow, but it can reach up to 2 m in its natural habitat, dracaenas grown in pots do not usually exceed 1.5 m in height.
