What is Calendula Oil?

Calendula oil is obtained by steam distillation of the flower heads. It is usually viscous and very sticky, yellowish in colour and with a woody or musky scent. This oil is extracted only from the calendula flower, as the stems and leaves do not have the same composition or properties.Calendula oil is considered an infusion rather than an extract, as oily substances are used to obtain the best properties from the flower.
